StonorA private visit has been planned to see Stonor. Nestling in a fold of the beautiful wooded Chiltern Hills, it is now home to The Lord and Lady Camoys, having previously been in the hands of the Roman Catholic Stonor family for 850 years. The history of the house inevitably contributes to the atmosphere; unpretentious yet grand. A façade of warm brick with Georgian windows conceals older buildings dating back to the 12th century, and there is a 14th century Catholic Chapel. The house contains many family portraits, Old Master drawings and paintings, and Renaissance bronzes and tapestries, along with rare furniture and a collection of modern ceramics. The garden offers outstanding views of the Park where fallow deer have grazed since medieval times.

Cost per person: £42.00 p.p. to include guided tour of house, garden, coffee, light lunch and tea.

The coach leaves THE WILSON, Clarence Street, at 8.45 a.m. and will return by about 7.00 p.m.

Please download and print the booking form and send the completed slip to Mrs. J. Ogle, 1 Wellington Square, Cheltenham, GL50 4JU (01242 231011) as soon as possible. New Friends should be aware that outings book up very quickly so a prompt reply is advised.
