Friends are invited to the BAfM conference dinner at Cheltenham’s famous Daffodil restaurant. After welcome drinks in the Circle Bar, kindly sponsored by our President PJ Crook, we will enjoy a dinner with a Cotswold theme created by the Daffodil’s award-winning team.
Our after-dinner speaker is Baron Hennessy of Nympsfield, who will speak on “History and Memory”. As a journalist at the BBC, The Times, The Financial Times and The Economist, Peter Hennessy unearthed the hidden wiring of the constitution and the power of the machinery of government in Britain. He is now Attlee Professor of Contemporary British History at Queen Mary University of London, and describes his aim as “to write the history of my own country, in my own times, for academic and public audiences alike.”
